Our strengths are not just what we happen to be good at; they are things that we also get energy back from. When we tune into our strengths we can perform better for longer as our energy doesn’t get drained as much.
You may already be aware of your strengths, or you might be wanting to discover them and become more of your true self. Our sessions can help you apply them to your life in practical ways that help you to feel happier and more authentic. Understanding my own strengths led me to this point of wanting to work as a strengths coach for others. It can be particularly empowering if you are used to thinking mainly about weaknesses or if people have treated you from a deficit perspective.

Trained Strengths Coach
I am a trained strengths coach, studying a course by one of the world’s leading experts on strengths in positive psychology (Dr. Ilona Boniwell) through the School of Positive Transformation. I use a variety of methods to help you discover your strengths, including one or more of these tools where applicable:
- Positran Solo 360+ & Teamscope+
Each of the above are based on positive psychology research and have been rigorously tested by experts. These are my preferred tools and I have been trained to use them all, so we can choose which (if any) is most applicable for you. However, there are also other strengths questionnaires and quizzes available that can be of help too. I am not tied in to using any one in particular as each has its own benefits and serves a different purpose. Please do feel free to discuss this with me in our coaching consultation. There are paid and free versions (giving more or less detailed reports) to chose from.
Knowing our strengths is one thing, orienting our work and lives to use them better takes time and effort. I am here to help you to find ways to manage your energy levels and motivation by tapping into your strengths. We look at reframing challenges around your strengths to help you tackle them with a more positive mindset and increased energy. This is also a good way to build resilience, giving yourself options for facing challenges.
As your strengths coach, my aim is to help you to live more authentically as yourself. I want you to flourish and so I aim to be supportive, curious and also challenging where needed. Together with an understanding of your personal values, motivation, purpose and goals you will be well equipped to shape your life in a way that is true to your own personality.
Strengths Discovery & Implementation Sessions
You don’t need to commit to long-term coaching to be able to benefit from seeing a strengths coach. I offer affordable discovery & implementation packages consisting of 2 strengths coaching sessions and a strengths report using a professional tool. The first session is all about unearthing your strengths profile and becoming familiar with when and how you function at your best. We then look for opportunities for you to put this into action and find things to test out.
Then, after a break for you to explore working with your strengths, we meet again for follow-up to see how things are going and what could be tweaked. We don’t want your strengths report to just sit on a shelf or on a hard-drive – our sessions are all about practical, pragmatic ways of reframing aspects of your life to increase your wellbeing.

Personal Values - Extended Report
If you are uncertain which profile to choose then please do ask. There are different emphases in the Strengths Profile & the VIA Top 5 report. Both are based on Positive Psychology research and are reliable, peer reviewed, helpful tools. If you would like to try them both out to get a feel for them then you can do their free versions and then only upgrade the one you want more detail from.
There are also other options available that we can discuss, including upgrades to even more detailed profile reports. One option that can be useful for those having trouble identifying their own strengths is the Positran Solo 360+. This asks for feedback from others on your strengths and can be a very useful tool for balancing out other people’s perceptions with our own. I have used this for myself in the past and discovered that people saw some things about me as strengths that I was worried might not be.
Please Note: When taking a strengths profile psychometric test through Focused Professional I will have access to your results as well. This helps me to plan our coaching sessions and to point you towards further potentially useful resources. It is very difficult to work as a strengths coach without access to the client’s reports. I will not share your results with others.
